One of one, and the loudest in the room. This is patchwork kantha at full volume: dozens of panels of reclaimed vintage cotton sari — block-prints, ditsy florals, geometric weaves and plain quilted blocks — hand-stitched into a single dense, rippled cloth. Every panel is different, and the two sides barely look like the same jacket.
The front is a jewel-box of colour: electric blue running into magenta, coral, ochre, olive and deep plum, scattered with tiny floral and tribal-geometric prints and tracked all over with running stitch. Turn it around and the palette melts into something softer and sun-bleached — washed pink, lilac, butter yellow and cream — with a coral block on one sleeve and a little red ditsy-floral patch on the other. Honest fades, marks and the odd repair come with the territory; this is cloth that's already had a long life and is happy to carry on.
A clean, collared cut with a sturdy full-length zip and the quiet weight quilted kantha gives. Three-season wear, and about as one-of-a-kind as clothing gets.
